Poshmark Shipping Is Changing: What Sellers Need to Know About USPS Ground Advantage

Poshmark just announced one of its biggest shipping updates in over a decade—and if you’re a reseller, it’s time to get prepared. Starting September 12, 2025, Poshmark will switch from USPS Priority Mail to the new USPS Ground Advantage service. This change comes with both good news and a few important rules you’ll want to know.

Here’s the quick version:

  • Shipping cost is going down — from $8.27 to $6.49 flat rate for packages up to 5 lbs.
  • Delivery method is changing — all orders will now ship via USPS Ground Advantage (2–5 business days).
  • You can no longer use USPS Priority Mail packaging — and if you do, you’ll be charged a $5 fee starting October 12.

📦 Why the Switch?

According to Poshmark, USPS recently increased rates on Priority Mail, and this change to Ground Advantage was a way to offer sellers (and buyers) a more affordable option. At $6.49 flat rate for anything up to 5 lbs, it’s actually the lowest shipping rate on Poshmark since 2017.

🚫 What You Can’t Do Anymore

As of September 12:

  • You can no longer use USPS Priority Mail-branded boxes, envelopes, or labels for Poshmark shipments.
  • USPS may refuse your shipment if you try to drop off a Ground Advantage label on Priority Mail packaging.

Starting October 12, if you use Priority Mail packaging with a Poshmark label, you’ll be hit with a $5 fee—automatically deducted from your redeemable balance.

✅ What You Can Use Instead

If you’ve been using your own polymailers, boxes, or bubble mailers—you’re good to go. Nothing changes for you!

If you need new packaging, Poshmark has partnered with USPS to provide free Ground Advantage supplies to sellers.

To request supplies:

Be sure to include the following in your email or phone request:

  • Your name
  • Poshmark closet name
  • Mailing address
  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • The type of packaging you need and quantity

Note: USPS says they are stocked and ready to fulfill these requests. Supplies must be ordered through the methods above—they are not available at local post offices.

📐 Size Guidelines

The max size for any Poshmark Ground Advantage shipment is a combined length and girth of 108 inches. That’s the longest side plus the distance around the thickest part of the box.

Acceptable packaging includes:

  • Standard brown boxes or padded mailers (including recycled ones—just remove old labels!)
  • Your own polymailers or bubble mailers
  • USPS Ground Advantage packaging (ordered through the Poshmark link, not found in post offices)

NOT allowed: USPS-branded Priority Mail or Express Mail packaging—even if you cover the labels. USPS may reject or return these shipments.
